LLU Anesthesiology residents receive exposure and experience with a variety of cases and anesthetic techniques during their rotation at the VA. Surgical case exposure includes Vascular, Neuro, Orthopedic, General, Thoracic, Urologic, Ophthalmic, Podiatric, Gynecologic, ENT surgeries and ECT therapy.

The residents receive instruction in IV sedation, general anesthetics and regional anesthetics (including ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks, landmark-based blind injections and subarachnoid anesthetics). Invasive lines and monitors are placed routinely for major vascular, thoracic and large abdominal cases, providing additional learning experiences for the residents.

This rotation is directed by Kevin Nasseri-Nouri, MD.
