Pediatric Anesthesia Rotation
Stacks Image 811

The pediatric rotation is based at the Medical Center and is usually done during the CA-2 year. Over 7000 pediatric surgeries, including more than 300 pediatric cardiac surgeries with cardiopulmonary bypass, are performed each year at LLUMC. All surgical subspecialties are represented, and residents can expect to gain experience in anesthetic management for all types of pediatric surgeries.

Formal didactic lectures, problem-based learning discussions, and literature review sessions are held each Wednesday morning after the Anesthesiology Department Grand Rounds. This is in addition to daily clinical didactic sessions in the operating room.

This rotation is directed by Linda Mason, MD.
